I ordered two which was just as well as only one had a key attached. These seem reasonable value for money, made from fairly sturdy plastic and have a plastic dish inside for loose poison and a rod for poison blocks. There aren’t any stakes or spikes to attach them to the ground, as some more expensive bait boxes have. I think these are worth getting as a first step, to see if rats will go for the poison and if it gets rid of the problem, but for long-term use better quality, more expensive boxes may be required.

Good pet safe rat poison bait box
    Verified Purchase
Neighbours have decking and rats! Had the Council rat-catcher out who said with decking it’s an on-going problem. I’ve had this bait box now for a month or so and have filled it with rat poison 3 times. I’m going to fill the hole in (again) that they’ve made under the fence, and then keep this in case I need it again.

A bit bulky and fiddly to open
Does the job but rather fiddly to open (there are two locks to unfasten) and when you get it open the top often falls off as it is only loosely hinged at the back. I found the narrower, tunnel version much easier to open – there is only one central lock – and seems to work just as well.

Contacted the Trapman company that supplies/manufactures the boxes by email for advise on how best to use them and where to put them. Excellent promot reply. Looks like they have worked. No sign of the beasties for 2 days now.

Good price with free delivery and does the job.Checked when delivered that the key was included. You must only turn the key a quarter or so of a turn to expand the internal catches to release the lid.If you are too heavy handed you turn it too far! Also applied a little vaseline to the plastic catches and key and it springs open easily when the key is turned gently (cos its all plastic
